So I am very glad of the creative process of the developers of Eo here, and yes they certainly got a lot inspired by Master of Magic and we even have some of its mechanics brought out the same way here (allfire points triangle) (edit: so "inspired" is an euphemism, just like we have AOW-tactical-combat) but they also worked more on the atmosphere and impact of it. MoM should not be accused because of the quality of Eo though. This is due to the fact that its a single continent with the Lost Isles wedged into a gulf to the southeast, which on that map is about where the Tuscari Sea is on the. The interactive map isnt accurate to Conquest of Eo, at least. I would even think Mom-remake developers would agree because it makes sense.Īlso, Master of Magic is very moddable (but not for 3D textures), so there is still that going for it. I suspect that they took a bit of liberty, did a bit of 'Immortal Empires' when they translated the map to CoE. Even if only in the atmosphere of it, the way pages are revealed, added, decrypted. Myself I conclude that Spellforce Eo managed to assume something very creative and immersive with their grimoire that Master of Magic should have thought about. Some players find out that there are quite a few differences (ie movement speed etc) which affect the experience. So like above players say it's outdated etc. MadDjinn some players say Mom is a faithful build but "too faithful" as they kept all the mechanics.
